Mumbwa, 29th August 2025 , Mumbwa Town Council yesterday held a contract signing ceremony with 15 successful contractors under the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for Mumbwa District, with projects valued at K23,617,793.70.
In addition, contract worth K2,541,681.86 was signed for the construction of a modern bus station, funded under the Zambia Devolution Support Program (ZDSP) 2024.
Following approval of the proposed contracts by the Attorney General’s Office, the signing took place at Mumbwa Town Council Chamber.
Council Secretary, Mr. John Machai, emphasized the importance of employing local residents to empower communities, while also urging contractors to deliver quality works and maintain effective communication in case of challenges.
The contractors were thoroughly briefed on the terms and conditions of their contracts. Mr. Machai stressed adherence to these requirements, while the Director of Engineering highlighted the need for effective time management to ensure timely completion of projects.
