NEWLY BUILT KANWAZHIBA RURAL HEALTH CENTER COMMISSIONED FINANCED UNDER CDF

Mumbwa Constituency has officially commissioned the newly built Kanwazhiba Rural Health Center at a total cost of K2,168,403.86, funded by the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Delivering the speech on behalf of the Southern Province Minister Mumbwa Member of Parliament Honorable Credo Nanjuwa, Council Chairperson Mr. Charlie Masumo  said the the commissioning of kanwazhiba rural health center  signifies that the mothers living within Kanwazhiba community will no longer have to walk long distances or give birth along their way to the health facility.

The opening of this facility is a testament to our government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery in our constituency aiming to reduce maternal mortality by increasing access to quality healthcare services.

Mr Masumo said water and health services are among the key sectors that the government has invested in through cdf and to prioritize health education, disease prevention, and community outreach.

District Commissioner Mrs, Namukulo Hayumbu said the health facility will help to serve a lot of mothers as the facility will operate twenty four hours throughout.

The allocation which has grown from 1.6 million to 30.6 million per constituency under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema is transforming the communities.

Mumba Ward Councillor Moven Chasemena said the facility will help to access the health care services and thanked government for the development brought to his ward among the other commissioned projects in the constituency.

Ward Development Committee Zonel Representative Mr. George Mwanayumbu said his grateful to government for realising the project as it was not easy but with efforts from the members of the community and the area councilor the goal has been achieved as the mothers will no longer walk seven kilometres to the nearest clinic.

The projects commissioned include the installation of a water scheme in Chimunzi under Mupona ward at the cost of K249, 553.00, from the 2024 CDF.

Kawama primary school and staff house in Mpusu ward at the cost of K313, 567.14,

Nambala primary school water reticulation and plumbing works for the 1 by 3 teachers houses at the cost of K434, 209.58.

Butinti primary school solar piped water reticulation system and plumbing works in Nambala ward at the total cost of k168, 846.21.

The construction of a maternity wing and solar piped water reticulation system at Kanwazhiba rural health centre at the cost of K1.048, 550.12

The construction of the staff house and two double VIP toilets was at the cost of K645, 354.40, the incinerator was constructed at the cost of K135, 220.64.

And 67 clubs and cooperatives under Mumbwa constituency have been empowered with grants at a total cost of K2, 240,400.
