14th March ,2025- The Permanent Secretary for Technical Services Nicholas Phiri of Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development officiated the opening of a two-day training Workshop in Kabwe at St Viovin Entertainment Center, Central Province.
The meeting which aimed at bridging existing communication gaps and ensure transparency, accountability and public participation in CDF implementation.
The workshop brings together Principal Officers and Public Relations Officers from Local Authorities in Central, Eastern, Copperbelt and North-Western provinces.
PS emphasized the importance of effective communication in implementing CDF programs and highlighted the government’s development of the CDF communications strategy.
This communication strategy provides a clear framework for accurate, timely and impactful information dissemination, outlining key messages, target audiences and effective communication channels.
The Permanent Secretary advised the Principal Officers to support Public Relations Officers to effectively disseminate information.
The two-day workshop is expected to strengthen local governance transparency and service delivery, ensuring CDF resources are utilized effectively for community development.
